As horses are physically limited in how much weight they can safely carry we have a guest weight limit of 230 pounds. Due to the rugged character of the country and the inherent dangers associated with travel by horseback, we generally limit the age of our backcountry participants to no less than twelve. We do not recommend these expeditions to anyone with respiratory disorders, heart trouble, or any condition that may be aggravated by altitude.
We are unable to accommodate special diets. For wildfire liability reasons and in consideration of our non-smoking guests we are strictly non-smoking.
Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible so that we can meet your specific trip needs. Initial questions are often easiest asked and answered by email.
We believe a visit by telephone is important, however. It allows us to learn from you first hand your expectations for the trip and general abilities in the outdoors. A phone call gives you an opportunity to establish personal contact.
A deposit of 50% of trip fare per person will reserve any date of your choice that has available space. Payment may be made with Visa or MasterCard using the Secure Payment Gateway. The final balance of payment must be received a minimum of thirty days prior to your expeditions departure date.
If you are traveling by auto, let us know if you need information and directions on the best routes. Our guests normally meet us at the trailhead on the morning of departure. If you fly, you will need to make arrangements with friends or family for a trailhead shuttle or rent a car.
Should you wish to fly the Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport is serviced by Delta, Frontier, United, US Air and Alaska Air year-round.
We will send a Trip Details Memo at the time of booking. It will include details such as time and place of meeting, directions to the trailhead, and other information you will find helpful. It will also provide you with a recommended list of personal equipment and fishing gear.
